CHUFC 0 - 2 INFINITY

It's difficult putting some comments about a game down after defeat, because it can be filled with negativity, not that the players necessarily read what I've said or are affected by it, but a defeat usually means there were things that were wrong. Hopefully this season I've been upbeat about our progress and full of praise for what as a team we were about but I really can't do that for the game against Infinity.

In all honesty, I had expected to win which probably seems arrogant but we had been playing ok and I felt if our performance was anywhere near complete we would be too good. What we actually saw was my side failing to compete, seemingly fearful of the physicality of our opponents, unable to build any momentum in possession, and crucially as always not good enough in both boxes. Two goals against from poor defensive moments and no threat going forward with no goals and I think just 1 meaningful shot on target.

A brief summary I accept, but quite simply we have to adapt to whatever strengths our opponents bring and work to nullify that and to better with our own game when we have the ball and we just didn’t do that.

We get another go straight away against Oakwood and I will look at a few things selection-wise to try to kickstart our season.
