Was the pitch playable well the ref said yes so we have to take his word for it.

It was 50/50 wither the game was to be played with all the rain we had but the ref said yes and thats all that matters. We cant use the pitch as an excuse because we got beat on the night and we cant use the excuse that we had players missing because both teams were effect by a incident on the railway, the turth of the matter was on the night we never took our chances and the First Division Club Mole Valley did.

The game itself started well for us and in the first few minutes Dan Harding had his shot hit the bar and Jimmy Hardings follow up shot cleared the bar.Mole Valley went straight up the other end and Sean Fallon got down well to save.
Then it was our turn again when Theo woodhouse was inches wide from a freekick about 25 yards out.In the 10th min Page had a chance for the visitors but fired wide. Theo Woodhouse was taking on the Mole Valley defenders at will at beating them and from one of these runs he was one and one with the away keeper but his attempt was not as good as his run and he lobbed the ball straight into the keepers hands.
The game was end to end and we had young Sean Fallon to thank for keeping us in the game when he came out bravely to save at the feet of the on rushing no 9. Then came the first of a couple of penalty appeals that came to nothing when the ref and linesman missed a Mole Valley player laying on the goal line and prevented the ball from going in with his hand.

Half Time Chessington & hook Utd.0-0 Mole Valley.

Within a minute of the restart the home team had to thank Sean Fallon for keeping them in the game. Then as in the first half it was our turn and Jimmy Harding was played in by Dan Harding but his shot went over, and from a corner Gary Puckett headed over. The pitch was now very very heavy and players were finding it hard to play football on it and the first booking of the game (52ndmin) went to the home side when Tony Houghton was booked for a tackle but he got there as soon as he could.
We were now doing all the pressing with Mole Valley hitting us on the break we had another chance when the Mole Valley keeper saved a long range shot by Paul Gough ,this was followed by Theo Woodhouse missing a chance, but our luck changed in the 70th min when a good ball was played by Tom Tylar and Charlie Ottaway showed the forwards how to finish 1-0.Five minutes the first sub was made by Chessington when Will Marlowe replaced The injured Tom Tylar, but less than a minute later Mole Valley leveled the score when a punch from the home team keeper found a Mole Valley player on the edge of the box who with no one within a 10 meter's of him fired low into the bottom corner 1-1. In the 82nd min Dan Harding had another chance but fired over the top,and then another booking when Theo Woodhouse kicked the ball away(Kids Football)in the 87th min.
We still had the chance to win the game when J Flack made a great run down the wing and whipped a great cross into the box which crossed the six yard line but no home player had taken a gamble and made the run to the far post for a simple tap in.

Extra Time.

The ref informed the players they were only going to play 10 mins each way as the pitch was in a bad way (We told you Ref).
Within 3 mins of the restart Mole Valley went in front when a great cross from the right was played in between the keeper and defender and the unlucky Puckett under pressure from the centre forward saw the ball hit his elbow and loop over the home keeper.(Should have been Keepers ball)But yet again we had chances this time Tony Houghton hit the ball straight at the keeper,Another Chessington Sub.as the heavy pitch started to take its toil with Andy Heath Replacing Paul Gough.
We then had another great chance but again Theo Woodhouse could not find the target, with just 5 mins left We used our last sub. when Jamie Ellis replaced Tony Houghton and it did not take him long to get involved when his low shot was blocked but while chasing back the ref saw a challenge that he thought was worth a booking so Ellis became our 3rd booking of the night.

Full Time Chessington & hook Utd 1-2 Mole Valley.

In football if you dont take your chances then you dont win games.
The pluses from the game the 3 centre halves (Tony Houghton,Aaron Leacock and Gary Puckett.) played well and will get better the more they play with each other.
Tony Houghton had to mark the leading scorer in the 1st Div.and ex Chessington Player Phil Page this was one of the best marking jobs i have seen and Phil never got a touch infact in injury time he went back and played Centre half.
