Chessington & Hook vs Bookham

Reverting to a 3-5-2 formation and giving starts to Paul Bogle, Adam Welsh and the returning attacking pair of Reece Jackson and Daryl Swaby we put in a performance that saw us run out comfortable three nil winners.

On a difficult surface we played some decent football and were rewarded after thirteen minutes when some neat interplay between Adam Welsh and Andy Weir saw Reece Jackson confidently convert the first real chance of the match.

The game was played almost entirely in the Bookham half and when play was at our end the threat was comfortably dealt with by Sharpe in goal, (who to be fair hardly had anything to do), Lloyd Welsh, Puckett and Holley.

In midfield Weir and Adam Welsh were industrious, whilst White and Bogle provided a solid platform from which nearly every attack started. Darren Smith who was given licence to support the front two at every opportunity caused plenty of problems for our opponents and the only real surprise was that at the break with the lead at one nil the game was still in the balance.

Within minutes of the restart, a well worked move saw Darren Smith finish brilliantly from twenty yards and at that point the game was done. Soon after Smith scored again from an Andy Weir corner this time with a deft header.

With Bookham looking well beaten at this stage Baldock replaced Adam Welsh and Martin Jackson came on for James White. With the amount of possession now being enjoyed the game at times resembled a training exercise and the only negative was that in the last thirty minutes a series of chances were all missed meaning we couldn’t come up with a more emphatic scoreline.
