Another pre season friendly, this time against Woking Academy at Chalky Lane. We were able to give the lads that didnt play on Tuesday against Corinthian Casuals a run out tonight aswell as give some more game time to players that needed it.
Reece Ellis played in goal and was impressive again. A back four of Kalid Alzubaidi, Andrew Heath & Lee Davison. Azahar Sarwar and Kevin Bourne played alongside Jimmy Hearne in the middle with Ahmed Hussain and Ryan Hughes either side, Dan McLoughin lead the line.
Woking were full of engery and again were alot fitter than the Chessy players, this showed even more in the latter stages of the game as they were rotating several subs and we had a bare 11 (so everyone could get 90 mins)
the first have was a pretty even affair with both keepers only having a couple of saves to make. Ryan Hughes went closest for Chessy when he hit the bar from an overhead kick just before half time.
Half Time 0-0
We started to control the game more in the 2nd half and we took the lead in the 50th minute when an Ahmed Hussain corner was headed in by Andrew Heath.
More pressure from the home team but Woking done well soaking it up and hitting on the break. Their two wingers were very impressive.
Bas Morally latched on the a through ball from Ahmed Hussain to calmy lob the keeper from the edge of the box to make it 2-0 around 70 minutes and kill the game.
An own goal from Reece Ellis right at the end of the game as a header hit the post and hit Reece on the back and into the net, nothing he could of done about it.
Overall another good test for the boys and good fitness.
Full Time 2-1
