When you are on a losing run like we are now , you look for anything that might change the dynamic and I was hoping a break from the league and a game against a side who we used to play regularly with a 15 minute journey might be the answer .

The game started with us getting in behind Moleseys defence quite easily and the initial exchanges gave cause for some optimism .

Then as has happened so often that this comment is permanently etched into my after game comments , we allowed an aimless ball to drop in behind us and despite getting to it first , an under hit back pass was pounced upon and despite a covering defender doing everything to retrieve the situation the tackle was adjudged to be a foul and the subsequent penalty saw us go behind early on .

Both sides had their moments but we had 3 very presentable chances that we could have done better with and at the break we really should have been level .

The team talk was a positive one and I sensed that we were still very much in the tie and that further chances would come our way .

The start to the second half was excellent . We had an opening 10 minutes or so where we were very much the side on top and threatened the hosts goal a few times and it looked like we could score at any time .

Molesey saw that momentum out and it became a much more even game where all results were still on the table mid way through the half .

The turning point came with 20 to go as we had a player sent off for a second yellow .

Its always individual moments that are so fine that define games and this was no different . We had players ready to come on to get us a goal and suddenly we had to think about if that was the right move with a man down . We stuck with the plan but Molesey did well to deny us the ball and although there were a few occasions where we were in the attacking third we never really created a good chance . They scored again with 10 to go and saw out the remaining time comfortably and there it was , another game another loss .

We need to find something and fast .
