The fixture schedule saw us visit another title challenger in Camberley on Tuesday night.
Forced changes to the starting line up and on a difficult night condition wise, what with the playing surface and wind conditions, we produced another fine display to earn a well deserved draw.
Whilst the performance level may not have reached the dizzy heights of the previous game, the resilience of the side could not be questioned.
Defending against the sizeable slope and overhead conditions in the first half, we remained strong although the best chances did indeed fall to our hosts. When we were undone, Mark Daniels and his back four came to the rescue although to be fair it wasn`t as if it was all one-way traffic. Our best chance probably falling to Martin Jackson as half time approached, his first attempt being blocked, his second missing the target.
After half time it was more noticeable how well we had done defensively in the opening exchanges, as it was clearly difficult clearing your lines and now we seemed sharper and to the ball first more often than our opponents.
The gradual shift in our favour saw us rewarded ten minutes in, when a half clearance fell to Martin Jackson whose volleyed return was neatly turned in by Adam Cheadle.
Despite the hosts changing shape to be more offensive we remained quite comfortable and were rarely troubled. With just under a quarter of an hour to go an injury to Paul West forced a reshuffle in the back line. A change we could have done without. Shortly after an injury to a Camberley player saw a lengthy delay, which clearly upset our momentum.
With the game entering the final minute of the ninety, a missed header in mid field and some neat interplay saw their marauding centre back crash home for a late equaliser. The five minutes of stoppage time saw us create one more opportunity for Todd whose left foot shot went wide.
At the final whistle it was difficult to say whether it was good point or two points dropped given the position we were in.
