In truth the game was done after 20 minutes having conceded twice and without putting up any real resistance .

We are always prepared and have a clear plan about what we look to do , but I was disappointed that we abandoned that against a very good side that played round us at will in the early exchanges .

To be honest it looked like the game was too much for a few early on , playing against players who have played at a higher level and with a few vociferous supporters in the stand .

We did get going but I have to wonder if that was us improving or the visitors taking their foot off the gas . It was probably a bit of both .

We got to the break still in the game , just , and at least was able to set some targets for the second half and to encourage a braver approach to the game .

I thought we actually did well in parts for most of the second half and probably created a few more promising openings than SE Dons , but as I say the game was sort of done . That said if we had taken just 1 of 4 very good chances that we created in a 15 minute spell it may have made the final 15 minutes interesting . On reflection these were all opportunities where the players know they should have scored . All in the penalty box with just the goalkeeper to beat and all missing the target , bar one , where there was no real contact on the shot and the goalkeeper wasn’t challenged .

The performance over the last 70 minutes was ok and probably at a level that will be more than enough to beat a lot of sides in this division , but we must make sure we reach those standards in what may be a less appealing game than this .

The scoreline was completed in the 5th minute of stoppage time and probably at 3 0 it properly reflected the overall game and the gulf between the two sides .

There were plenty of positives as there was in the 2 previous games but we have taken no points in that time so we need to address that and quickly .

We probably aren’t the worst team in the division but statistically that what it says we are , so we must roll our sleeves up and start winning games quickly to get ourselves away from the relegation places .
