"Score 4 away from home, you should be winning the game"

We went into this game against Cobham full of confidence, having beaten our opponents just over 2 weeks ago in the cup and coming off the back for a 4-1 win against Carshalton Athletic.

Forever present J Flack was suspended for this one, Ryan Howard replaced him at RB. Adam Marie moved to LB with Andrew Jones & Tom Tyler our CB partnership.

Lewis Skipp was rested and replaced by Josh Doe who teamed up with Dan Green and Bas Morally in the middle of the park.

Ade Peters was missing due to work was replaced by Sharif Yacoob who played one side of Martyn Gange with Kiemon Robinson on the other.

Ross Tomassi working, Christian Money and Jamie Ellis unavailable, Kyle Green suspended, Myles Henry, Matty Ellis and Aaron Agyeman still injured meant we were missing 10 1st team players but still managed to name 16.

Liam Traynor who signed from Epsom Athletic in the week made his debut in goal in place of Ian Hewitt, it was a nightmare start for Traynor as he conceded after just 90 seconds!! Nothing he could do about the strike, we gave the ball away cheaply and were punished!

A chance to level the scores only minutes later when Sharif Yacoob was fouled inside the box, Martyn Gange saw his penalty saved to the keepers left.

The game was pretty end to end but with no side really making any clear cut chances and both keepers were quiet.

We finally got back on level terms when Adam Marie found space inside the Cobham penalty area from a Kiemon Robinson corner, Marie made no mistake from 3 yards out.

Only 4 minutes later we were in the lead for the first time, Gange was fouled about 40 yards from goal, as the Cobham CB moaned to the referee (who by the way had a good game) Yacoob spotted to ball and played in Gange in acres of space, he went one on one with the keeper and coolly slotted home.

We took full control of the game from this point and played some decent flowing football, Robinson and Morally looking dangerous running at the Cobham defence, but it was Cobham who scored next, completely against the run of play, a cheap foul was given away by Josh Doe who was then slow to react as the ball got played inside to former Chessy player Louis Chin who unleashed a wicked shot from some 35 yards out, again Traynor in goal had no chance!

The lads didn't let the leveller affect their mood as they set out to score again, and that's exactly what we did, another Robinson cross was pin point to Morally who got up first at the near post and guided his header into the far corner!

We went in at HT full of confidence that we could go out and really put the game to bed early in the 2nd half. But the lads went out and done exactly the opposite!

Cobham to their credit really flew out the blocks, they looked dangerous in every attack! A succession of corners were not cleared as we failed to get out of our half, the home side quickly drew level again from a corner, the cross was met on the volley, bar and in at about 100mph!!!

We looked nervous for the first time this season, this was highlighted when Marie instead of throwing the ball down the line threw it back to Traynor who was put under pressure before he could get a touch on the ball, he lost out to the persistent Cobham forward who tapped into an empty net!

With Chessy failing to string 3 passes together it was clear to see who was going to score next, but no one would of expect this goal! The impressive Cobham no 10 picked the ball up around the half way line and drove at our back 4, he skipped past challenges, one after the other, cut back inside with onto his left foot and drilled the ball into the top corner! What a goal!!

Lewis Skipp replaced Josh Doe.

With the score now 5-3 and pretty much over, we decided to start playing again, moving the ball forward and with a higher tempo.

Rudolph Tewe replaced Sharif Yacoob and Joe Charles replaced Ryan Howard as we changed to 3 at the back and pushed more bodies forward, this obviously leaving space for Cobham to exploit but we had to take the risk!

Another Robinson free kick wasn't cleared and Marie tucked the ball home to make it game on again with 15 minutes still to play!

Marie with a great chance to make it 5-5 with minutes remaining managed to head high and wide from a yard out, it was harder to miss!

Tom Tyler up from the back blazed over as he snapped at an ball across the goal line in the last minute and Cobham held on for a deserved win on their 2nd half performance.
