Chessington & Hook Utd won there first league game of the season.

Chessington & Hook Utd won there first league game of the season and this result lefts up the table two places.Infact if it were not for the away keeper and offsides we would have had a far more convincing win.
As early as the 2nd min. Vic Martin was played through by a good ball from Dan Gurney only for the ref to pull up play for foul aganist Vic Martin when everyone else thought Vic Martin had been fouled by the defender, and only 3mins.later a great passing move involving Vic Martin,Micky Hughed Theo Woodhouse and Charlie Ottaway resulted in Micky Hughes hitting a low drive from the edge of the 18yard box which the keeper done well to turn around the post.It was very much one way traffic and in the 7th min. Zak Graham flick on for Vic Martin but again the keeper done well next it was the turn of Zak Graham after Charlie Ottaway put him through but this time a defender cleared off the line.
Hartley Wintney only answer seem to be just launch the ball forward and try and get there forwards in useing there speed and indeed in the 13th min.this caused the home team a problem with a mix up between Mark Daniels and Tony Houghton but Mark Daniels recovered well to clear the ball for a throw in.The home team forwards were causing Harley Wintney defenders problems with Dan Gurney,Charlie Ottaway and James White controling the midfield, and with Theo Woodhouse and Micky Hughes working well togeather down the right hand side, but we were nearly caught out when Micky Hughes tried to play a square ball across the pitch only for it to go straight to the Hartley Wintney forward who was only stopped by Owen Davies holding him up and Micky hughes getting back to help tackle him and from the resulting clearence Charlie Ottaway was very unlucky when he tried to lob the keeper.
Again the home forwards were combining well and only a great save prevented Vic Martin scoring after being played in by Zak Graham. now the game was opening up and only a great old fashion tackle by Owen Davies out wide winning the ball against two forwards prevented an attack to develope and again in the 30th min only Sonny Walshe last ditch tackle as he came in from the left to sweep up prevented us a problem.
3Chessington And Hook Utd got what they deserved in the 37th min. when a great run and cross from Theo Woodhouse left Charlie Ottaway with a simple tap in to put the home team 1-0 up.over the next few mins.the home team forwards kept getting off side with Vic Martin getting caught time and time again, and we nearly paid for it when another long ball caused us problems and only a challage from a defender put the centre forward off and he fired over the bar,and from the resulting goalkick Zak Graham showed a great bit of skill when he tried to lob the keeper from just inside there half only for the ball to bounce over the bar and clearing it only by a couple of inches, next it was Micky Hughes who made a good run from the back and was clean through with only the keeper to beat but again the keeper saved.

Half-Time.CHU 1-0 HW.

The second half was a replay of the first, after some good work and cross from Zak Graham Vic Martin had a point blank shot saved by the keeper who was having one of them games, next it was the turn of Zak Graham who after some good work by Theo Woodhouse saw another lob this time from out wide just drop inches wide of the far post.In the 65th min.Chessington made there first sub.with Leslie Nte coming on for Vic Martin. Now the game was end to end and only another great save from the keeper stopped Zak Graham when put clean through one on one with the keeper from a good ball from James White. The second sub. was now made by Chessington with Gary Puckett coming on for James White in the 78th min.and only 3mins. later Chessington were lucky when an attempted clearence was hit against his own bar by a Chessington defender. The problem for Chessington now was that as they tyied they started playing the long ball and all that done was give the ball straight back to Hartley, but in the 85th min.a long ball by Micky Hughes was chased down by Leslie Nte who then played a cross into Zak Graham who in turn had his shot Blocked by a defender, and from this Owen Davis headed just wide. With time running out Chessington made there third sub.with James Owolabi replacing Theo Woodhouse.
