Indiscipline cost us 2 more points this afternoon.

With both teams playing 4-4-2 the Chessington midfield looked like they had more flair than Camberleys, but the longer the game went on the more Camberley looked like nicking all three points.
The game itself started quite well for Chessington and in the 4th min. Tony Houghton won a freekick about 25yards out, he got off the floor to take it himself but his weak effort was fired over the bar.Camberleys game plan seemed to be fire everything down the right so that there winger could use his pace and get beyond Dan Harding. Now the game had opened up and when Chessington played the ball through the midfield we looked good and created space for other players with Paul Gough winning most of his tackles and Charlie Ottaway quick feet we always looked like causing them trouble and it only looked a matter of time before we scored, but you have to learn the offside trap to do that and with our forwards playing on the shoulders of the last defenders the defenders were catching us offside at will. When we ran at there back four we looked like causing them problems but we went back to hitting the long ball which there centre backs won everytime. The closest we got to scoring was in the 21st min.when a great run and pass by Charlie Ottaway to Theo Woodhouse finished with a tame effort that the keeper saved with ease.Too many times our players were running with the ball and trying to do it on there own rather than play as a team.In the space of 5 mins, the right winger of Camberley got behind our back four and fired the ball across our box 3 times but luck was on our side as they had no forward fast enough to keep up with him and the one occasion that they did a great recovery tackle by Gary Puckett saved us.
In the 35th min we finaley scored with a moved started by left back J Flack breaking from the back and changing the direction of play with one long pass across field to Dan Harding who came inside the fall back and hit a great shot that came off the bar and bounced back into the net, which was just as well as we had two other players in the box waiting for the cross.
The young Referee who was being assessed wa doing quite well up untill this point but with the away team shouting at his every decision it was no surprise that he started booking players and Theo Woodhouse was the first in the 37th min. After we scored it seemed to settle us down and we played some good football but there is only so much football you can play on a sticky pitch, and we kept giving the ball away ,when we knocked it long the away defenders just knocked it back at our back four and when we played it short we just gave the ball straight to there players even when we were not under pressure.

Half Time Chessington & Hook Utd 1-0 Camberley Town.

This week the half time worked against us as Camberley came at us right from the off but again in the 53rd min Theo Woodhouse put Dan Harding clean through but a great bit of sweeping work by the Camberley sweeper prevented Dan Harding getting a shot off, then in the 53th min Jimmy Harding fired over when put through by Theo Woodhouse.
Now it was Camberleys turn and there no.9 and a great run and effort go wide of the home goal, and still Camberley had not made the home keeper make a save.
Now Chessington made there first substitution of the afternoon in the 55th min. with Victor Martin replacing Theo Woodhouse. In fact our Sub should have put us 2-0 up when a quick break from the back by the impressive Tony Houghton who then played the ball to Dan Harding who played the ball into the path of Victor Martin who in turn had his low drive saved by the keepers legs. Then it was Camberleys turn when the two Chessington centre halfs got in each others way and the ball went by the pair of them but the away no 7 could not take advantage of this and shot wide of the home goal.In the 72nd min Victor Martin then managed to get himself booked after hand bags with one of there players.
Our discipline now went out the window and after a couple of silly little handbag moments the ref decided enough was enough and Victor Martin was shown the red card for something he said to one of there players. The Chessington Management now brought on Matt Mackenzie for the hard working and hard tackling Paul Gough .
The game changed with us down to 10 men and Camberley started to get on top and with the extra man they were finding space and from a simple knock into the box they scored when Nick Taylor came for the ball called and never made it 1-1. Now Camberley went for the three points and from a free kick they thought they had them with the shot just going wide with the home keeper beaten. Then in the last few minutes they could have nicked them but for two good saves by Nick Taylor.

Full Time. Chessington & Hook Utd 1-1 Camberley Town.

Our back four defended well today and I feel sorry for them they deserved more than just 1 point.
This has got to be one of the worst 2nd halves I have ever watched we have to learn that we are not a pub side that gets involved in handbags with other teams we done that today and it worked in there favour as they carried on playing and we stopped. Any Chessington player who came off that park and was happy with a point should not be wearing the shirt, can some one please explain the difference between last weeks performance and this same players, same management same shirts, different attitude and last week we kept our discipline.
Last week second half we looked a good side and played good football on the deck in my opinon we got caught up in the indiscipline of the away teams players, supporters, and dugout and lost 2 points. We fell into there trap.
When are we going to learn, we have proved in recent games that if we play like we can and keep our discipline we are one of the best teams in the league but all teams have to do is wind us up and stop us playing our game.
