A point away from home seems like a good result.

A point away from home at Wembley seems like a good result but with more composure in the box it should have been three.

The afternoon itself started badly with the late arrival of the kit, due to roadworks it arrived at 2.35pm with the game kicking off at 3.00pm. This with the non arrival of two players plus the arrival of another player just after kick off is not the sort of thing you expect when running a side at senior level, but to the Managements credit they overcome these problems and took a point off a team who have only lost at home once this season.

The game itself was end to end with both teams having long range shots at goal and both teams well off target, infact I dont think either keeper was forced to make a save until the 40th min. when Mark Daniels saved a shot creeping in to the top corner.

The home team had a number of corners of which Mark Daniels punched clear and the nearest the home team came to scoring was from a near post corner which Charlie Ottaway headed clear.

Half Time Wembley 0-0 Chessington & Hook Utd.

During the half time break Chessington were forced to make two changes with Dan Burdett replacing Mark Daniels in goal and J Flack replacing Frankie Green. Mark having felt his calf stiffing up and after being injured for a while didnt want to push his luck and Frankie Green was just having a bad day at the office.

It was good to see J.Flack back from his broken ankle (he has only been out of his cast two weeks). It wasnt long before he got himserlf in the game and to be fair we stared to control the second half and put the home teams defense under pressure but as with most of our games this season we lacked a finisher and poor decison making in the area cost us all three points.

The home team were pushed back and just relied on a quick break and from one of these we had to thank Dan Burdett for a good save with his feet to keep the score level.

Matt Mackenzie came on for Paul Gough with 10min to go and he could have won the game as from a late corner it looked like he had made his run to perfection but at the last minute he must have taken he eye off the ball and missed it.

There is no doubt in the Management team that we would have lost this game at the start of the season but we are looking quite assured at the back at this present time and to take a point and not concede a goal has to be an improvement.
