Poor Display

This game had to be the worst display of the season and we were lucky that other teams around us also lost.

The game started quite well,with both teams attacking the others defenses Chessy had the first a of a number of chances to put pick up three points but twice Ade Butler and then Dan Harding missed when one on one with the keeper.

Ash were finding our defense a little harder to break down and never really had a shot on target until we gave away a corner which was hit to the far post and after we failed to clear the ball an Ash player with three defenders standing around him fired into the Chessy net.

If this was not bad enough within five minutes of the restart Dan Harding decided to tell the referee what he thought of him and let the whole team down by getting himself sent off.

The rest of the first half we now found it hard to break down the Ash defense and this was not helped by us giving the ball away more then we held on to it,our passing was abismal it seemed liked we couldnt pass water let alone pass a football.

In the second half we looked more like the Chessy from previous games with J Flack replacing Danny Heath and his work rate up and down the right side opened up channels for Theo Woodhouse but he failed to take advantage of the space in front of him.

Then Ash went down the other end and scored what can only be called sucide defending when our defender kick the ball straight up in the air when attempting a clearence he still had time and space to head the ball back to our keeper but mistimed his header which fell well short of our keeper and the Ash player found the net with ease.

We never looked like scoring before or after this and in all my time in football I have never seen a senior side give the ball away so much, there were maybe two or three Chessy players that walked off with any credit and unless the rest of the players shake there ideas up we are going to be looking over our shoulders for the rest of the season.

On paper we had a very strong side every first team player was avialble
except three,now we know that on there day these players are a match for any side in this league but on this performance we could get beat by any side in the league so unless some of our players go out to play with a better attitude and take on board what the management team tell them we might have to look to getting a few new faces in.

At this level of Football players have to look after themselves if they want to go higher in Football not turn up to a game on Saturday afternoon(at what time they want to) still tired from there Friday night activities and this applies to all sides not just ours.
