Our Keeper Mark Daniels had a nightmare.

Our Keeper Mark Daniels had a night mare start to the game within 3 mins. he let a back pass roll under his foot and into the net.
In the next 8 mins.bad mistakes by us let in Horley for 3 clear cut chances and only bad finishing kept the score to 1-0.

In the 12 min.we created our first chance with some neat passing between Dan Harding Dave Francis and Jimmy Harding only for the Horley keeper to bravely block the latters goal attempt.

We now seemed to have settled down and in the 18th min a good bit of inter play between Charlie Ottaway and Theo Woodhouse saw the latters low cross well claimed by the Horley keeper who wasted no time in kicking deep into our half which resulted in our defender heading the ball straight up in the air but to everyones surprise the Horley player volleyed the ball into the bottom corner 2-0.

Horley were playing the pitch better than us they were playing the long ball game and we were trying to play football on a bumpy pitch.

For the next 10mins we seemed to be getting back in the game with a good effort from Theo Woodhouse was charged down and 2 efforts from Jimmy Harding just curled wide, but again a long ball resulted in Vic Martin and Mark Daniels crashing into each other and leaving the Horley forward the simple task of rolling the ball into a empty net 3-0.

Jimmy Harding had another shot from outside the box curl about a foot wide from 20yards out,but in the 33mins Dan Harding missed his kick when from a corner he found himself free from only a foot out.

Good build up play in the 37 min lead to Dave Francis playing in Basri Morrally whos shot was again well held by the Horley stopper.

Half-Time Horley Town 3-0 Chessington & Hook Utd.

The first act of the second half was for Dan Burnett to replace Mark Daniels in the Chessy goal and things started where they had ended at half time with Horley happy to play the long ball to there livley front two,but it was Chessy who had the first shot of the second half when Matt Ellis fired over from 30yards and from the resulting goal kick Vic Martin got caught under the ball leaving the Horley forward a clear run at goal but just when it seemed he would make it 4-0 Vic Martin had recovered and made the tackle of the game.

In the 52 min Tom Tyler made a good run down the wing and cut inside only to see his low drive just go wide of the far post but again a long ball by the Horley keeper caused a missunderstanding between Dan Burnett and Aaron Leacock which resuted in the keeper not coming for the ball early enough and so let the Horley forward in 4-0.

In the 60th min Luke Edwards came on for Basri Morrally and 5mins later Dan Harding had a good low effort turned away for a corner and from the resulting corner Luke Edwards had a shot well saved by the home keeper with the ball coming back to the Chessy player again only this time his shot was blocked by a defender and the ball rolled to another Chessy player whos shot was blocked by a defender but the ref pointed to the spot having seen the use of a hand.

4-1 Dan Harding sends the keeper the wrong way.We were now putting the home team under pressure but again we are our own worst enemies and it took a brave save from Dan Burnett to keep us in the game when with an open goal the home forward only had to hit the back of the net but Chessy keeper came from nowhere to save at his feet.

For the last 10mins of the game we put the home defense under real pressure with both Theo Woodhouse and Luke Edwards getting behind there full backs at will and from another fine ball from Dave Francis to Luke Edwards the latter fired in a low shot that seemed to be going in but at the last second it spun the wrong side of the post.

Dan Harding then came up with a class goal with his back to goal and with the centre half right up his back he turned and fired an unstoppable shot that flew into net at the far post.4-2.
Luke Edwards had another late chance but lost his footing at the end of his run.

Full-Time Horley Town 4-2 Chessington & Hook Utd.

This game was a managers nightmare because some players never learn it doesnt matter what the manager asks them to do they go out and think they know best and still try to do there own thing, when the results show different. Two weeks ago we played the same team and the team played the way the manager asked result a 2-0 win.I suggest some of the players take a long look at themselves and ask themselves do they give us 100% on a saturday and do they care if we win or lose, are they playing for the club for the right reasons ? If not they should let the management team know so that we can get some new players in that want to play for us and are willing to give 100% week in and week out.It also helps if players who are carrying a knock are honest about it and inform the management because the players concerned are not only letting the managerment team and club down there also letting down the other players in the side that are willing down it takes 11 players to win a football match.
